Governor's Update
Hello, NTX Optimists!
We have some wonderful things planned for the coming year.
This fall in the 1st Quarter we will be doing some traveling around the District in lieu of the traditional central location conference.
First, we will be at Past Governor Jim Sanders’ “Coyote Saloon” in Crowley on October 22 for a meet and greet and a NOW Halloween party the same evening. Dust off your dancin’ boots and get the cobwebs off of your costumes and let's start the year off right.
November 4, we will be in Wichita Falls for a Quarter meeting and on November 5th Amarillo. Invitations will go out about 10 days prior to each event to club presidents and secretary/treasurers and will be announced on our NTX Facebook page.
The 2nd quarter awards conference will be in Vernon February 10-11th. I have faith that Dustin and Veronica Fraticelli will have the absolute best waiting for us all.
The 3rd quarter conference will be in Arlington and hosted by the Arlington Optimist Club. We will have our Essay Contest winner at lunch, CCDHH Contest finals in the afternoon, and District Oratorical Contest that evening. The dates are tentative May 5-6. Friday night we are looking at possibly having a car show as a district fundraiser for the OI Foundation. More details to come.
And the finale 4th quarter convention will be in Lawton,Oklahoma as a newly merged District with our friends north of the Red River. The dates are tentatively August 4-5.
